Oregon Wine Touring Guide

OREGON, pronounced OR-UH-GUN, became a state on Valentine’s Day 1859. Volcanoes, dense forest, high desert, abundant water, filberts, pears and 19 distinctive wine growing regions define the landscape.

Oregon is home to the deepest lake in U.S. (Crater Lake), 362 miles of public coastline, the single largest organism on Earth (Humongous Fungus), the birthplace of America’s culinary patron (James Beard), and the most endearing adventure movie ever made (The Goonies).

Like the land, Oregon’s winemakers and grapegrowers are a little rugged, a little wild, and worth getting to know. They’re resolute but relaxed and steadfast without moving too fast. They have persisted in soils first ignored with a singular intention: to make great Oregonian wine.

You see, Oregon is a state, and a damn fine one. But Oregonian is a state of mind.
